Matt & Allie (One Year Anniversary)

One Year Down, Forever To Go

Confucius once said, “Choose a job you love and you'll never have to work a day in your life”. Sometimes when you are so busy and engrossed in your work, it becomes just that, work. I started my business over 10 years ago and have met so many wonderful people and made some amazing friends but lately, it has become just a routine that it lost that spark that photographing a session would have. That was until this past Tuesday!

I went to High School with Matt and Allie and they have been dating since Middle School! If they look familiar then that’s because you have definitely seen their photos all over my website or social media. I remember when they got engaged back in 2019 and we went up to Skylands Manor for their engagement session. We had a blast walking around the gorgeous property and talking and laughing the entire time. Then last Summer they finally tied the knot! I photographed their small family ceremony the day before their gorgeous big day! They are some of the kindest people I have ever met and had the pleasure of photographing!

Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago, Allie texted me throwing the idea of a one-year anniversary shoot which I obviously said yes to! We picked a date and she sent me some inspiration she had found online, I found a location, and the rest was history! She had collected all of these cute items to use as props and even brought some of their wedding cake to cut and eat together to mark the special occasion! If anyone knows Allie, they know how detailed orientated she is and that’s why her sessions are always Pinterest-worthy!

Even though it was a tad hot and were met with a surprise afternoon rain storm, everything was perfect! It was a secluded little spot that I’ve shot at before and we even had some curious goose friends who wanted a taste of the cake! Matt and Allie brought a speaker to play some of the songs from their wedding day to set the mood. When I tell you it was a dream, I am not lying! Sessions like these pull me right back in and remind me why I started photography in the first place. One simple session not even 10 minutes from my home, is all it took to snap me out of any funk I might have been in!

Congratulations Matt & Allie, one year down, forever to go!
