From “Yes!” to Baby #3: A Full-Circle Maternity Session
It’s hard to believe that summer is already coming to a close! Before we know it, the leaves will be changing, Fall Mini Sessions will be in full swing, and then we’ll be jumping right into all of the Christmas photo fun.
But before we officially say goodbye to summer, I wanted to take a moment to share one of my favorite sessions from this season, and one that was extra special to me personally.
My good friend Brittany, her husband Tyler, and their two sweet boys are getting ready to welcome a baby girl this December! And while maternity sessions are always special, getting to capture this season for their family meant so much to me.
I’ve had the honor of photographing some of Brittany and Tyler’s biggest milestones over the years, starting all the way back with their engagement photos in 2021. Since then, I’ve been able to watch their family grow, and it has been such a joy to not only call them friends, but to be trusted to capture these memories along the way.
And this session brought everything full circle.
Years ago, Tyler asked Brittany to marry him in the Bahamas. Now, all these years later, we found ourselves back in the Bahamas, only this time, they weren’t celebrating an engagement. They were there as a beautiful family of four, with their sweet baby girl on the way, getting ready to become a family of five.
There was something so special about photographing them in a place that holds such an important piece of their story. So much has changed since that proposal, the wedding, the boys, the memories they’ve made together, and now another little one joining their family.
It’s moments like these that remind me exactly why I love what I do.
Photography is about so much more than getting everyone to smile and look at the camera. It’s about freezing a little piece of life exactly as it is right now, the tiny hands, growing bellies, silly personalities, big milestones, and all of those little in-between moments that seem ordinary today but become priceless as the years go by.
One day, Brittany and Tyler will be able to look back at their engagement photos and remember where this chapter began. And now they’ll have these photos to remember the summer they were waiting to meet their daughter and their boys were getting ready to become big brothers to a little sister.
What an honor it is to be invited into these moments and capture memories that families can hold onto for years to come.
Congratulations, Brittany & Tyler! I cannot wait to meet your sweet baby girl and watch your beautiful family begin this next chapter.
